David E. Fedor, CFP®, CRPC®

CEO & Founder, Fedor Financial Group, LLC

For David Fedor, financial planning isn’t just about spreadsheets and market cycles—it’s about people, longevity, and the peace of mind that comes from feeling confident you won’t outlive your resources. As the founder of Fedor Financial Group in West Springfield, David’s mission is simple: to help his neighbors afford the retirement they’ve worked a lifetime to earn.

A Foundation Built on Local Values

David’s work ethic was forged right here in Western Massachusetts. Growing up in Easthampton he spent his summers from the age of ten at his father’s car dealership. Moving from “wash boy” into management, he learned firsthand from his father, Eddie, the importance of integrity and the power of long-term saving & investing.

That local upbringing remains the heartbeat of his practice. Today, David is proud to manage wealth for many families spanning multiple generations, maintaining relationships that have flourished for decades.

The Path to Independence

After graduating from Bentley University in 1989, David began his career as an analyst at MassMutual. A few years later, a chance meeting with a talented professional at John Hancock changed everything—she didn’t just recruit him to the firm; she eventually became his wife.

While David gained invaluable experience at major institutions like Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, the 2009 subprime mortgage crisis served as a turning point. Watching large banks prioritize bailouts and profit margins over people, David realized his clients deserved better. In 2010, he left the "corporate security blanket" to found Fedor Financial Group. By choosing an independent path and partnering with Commonwealth Financial Network®, David ensured that his sole focus would always be his clients—not a corporate bottom line.

Expertise with a Personal Touch

David believes that "good enough" isn’t enough when it comes to retirement. To better serve his clients, he earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation. These rigorous credentials allow him to build sophisticated, risk-reduction strategies that turn complex financial goals into reality.

As a primarily fee-based advisor, David’s success is directly tied to your own. If you succeed, the firm succeeds. It’s a transparent, honest way of doing business that removes the conflict of interest often found in big-bank and insurance sales environments.

Beyond the Office

David lives in Agawam with his wife, Janice—a college professor—they have three daughters. When he isn’t helping clients navigate retirement, you can usually find him outdoors. He is an avid pickleballer, and loves to volunteer during his spare time. Dave currently serves on the board of the Hampden County Estate Planning Council and was a board member of the Greater Springfield Senior Services and the Alzheimer’s Association. He enjoys volunteering at local colleges giving talks about personal finance. He’s also a true believer in the restorative power of daily meditation and mindful awareness.
